Biography
I have been involved in fine art photography for many years, my primary interests being landscape. I approach photography in a traditional way, through developing an intimate relationship to the places that I visit to photograph. My passion for photography of natural landscapes, and constant learning motivates me to go to extraordinary places. My work interprets and reflects my response to the landscape in exquisitely detailed pure black and white photographs, captured with my 4x5 view format camera. In printing the images, I utilize traditional silver gelatin, now an increasingly rare process since the rise of digital
photography. However, most recently, I have been experimenting with infrared digital photography with lovely results, therefore becoming another expressive and important creative way of photographing. I converted my digital cameras to infrared, which gives me infrared light as another artistic avenue to explore the way to photograph the landscape that truly can never see with ones eyes.
